What I have one my Moore family is very limited. I am still trying to find sources for a lot of the info I had recieved from my cousin's in Nebraska. Most of this is speculative at best for the generations before Francis Moore. ** indicates my direct line. At some point they came to Virginia, as farmers and then went to West Virginia, Iowa, Nebraska then Washington.

** William Moore B:Jan 1743 in Cavan Ireland
D: 28 mar 1808 in possibly Ohio County, Virginia

Spouse: Jane Dowler (variations on last name)
B:Sep 1745 in Letrim ireland
D: Aug 1828 in possibly Ohio County, Virginia

They had the following kids all appear to have been born in Cavan Ireland

George, Sarah, Edward, William (1), Katherine (1), Maragret, William (2), Jane, Elizabeth, ** Francis & Katherine (2)

** Francis Moore B:3 Mar 1787 in Cavan Ireland
D: 26 Oct 1859 in Des Moines County, Iowa (recent search seems to suggest he died of breast cancer)
Spouse: Anna Mccormick Ward B: 27 Aug 1798 in Ohio or Marshall County, Virginia
D: 24 Feb 1865 in Des Moines county, Iowa

Francis appears to have been Methodist as he served on original building comittee and board of trustees of Long Creek Methodist Church in Long Creek, Des Moines, Iowa

They had the following children which appear to have been born in what was then Wheeling, Marshall, Virginia now West Virginia.

Elizabeth, Jane, ** Joseph Benson, John Ward (verified as born in Wheeling), George Mitchell, Thomas Robert(s), Sarah Ann & Margaret Morton

Joseph's original homestead now over 130 years old is still standing in little town of Murray, Cass, Nebraska, the Moore's married into the Patterson family one of which was govenor of Nebraska, despite all this not much is known about this family. I have contacted relatives in Murray and they were in the dark as much as I was on Joseph's ancestry. Joseph is my gg grandfather, his son Samuel Louis my g grandfather, his son Leo Roy Sr. my grandfather and his son Leo Roy Jr. my dad. I have just begun looking into Ancestry.com for possible info on this line, unfortunately it usually amounts to data I have already submitted.
