Well, I thought I would post this so no one else makes the same mistake I did. Heather has the Berlin family in her line and Having a name like Johan Jacob Berlin, I was assuming they were from Germany. So I cenetered my research around Germany. Now although they were probably German, and probably spoke German(and possibly French)having settled in predominately PA Dutch area's in Pennsylvania. I found that they came from Neiderbronn/Niederbronn, Alsace, France. Now in essence I wasn't 100% wrong since this area was originally settled by Germanic tribes and was fought over in the first Franco-Germanic wars. This is also were Google plays a big part in Genealogical research. If I have a place that FTM doesn't recognize I run it through Google to find out more about the place. Goggle showed me that it was in France, but had been part of Germany's area as well. Needless to say I never found anything with my German search but as soon as I looked at France I found this families info. I have always enjoyed reading about history and also like to play CIV IV which has a lot of historical info about various civilizations included in the game.
