Most of the families that came out of this area were dealing with a lot of troubling times. Poverty and or religious persicution. I am not sure about Heather's Berlin family, but I suspect they left for the same reason's most of the others did with hopes for a better life in America. Most of France was something different or part of different countires at one time or another. With the Gauls, Normans and other Germanic tribes in it's very early years. It makes for some fun searching trying to find places that no longer exsist. Her dad's family came from Prussia, which could be present day Russia, Germany, France, Poland and a few other area,s. East Prussia's capital was Konigsberg, Which is now in Germany, and most of West Prussia became Poland's area. So I have my work to do in this area.
