I hope Jeff can recall some things, and I'm sure that if you posted any of those stories she'd be very grateful. You may notice that I've put up an article about the finds linked from the Skamania page. I've included a quote which she shared from George Iman as well. She seems a bit puzzled about the name of the island, and counts the beads to a very very large number. The Smithsonian is apparently in the process of detailed analysis in preparation for repatriation of objects to Plateau natives.

I'm curious and unclear since other Iman stories seem to locate events a bit down river from what appears on survey maps as the land claim for Imans. There's apparently also an Iman Lake and a Little Iman Lake that I've never seen pictures of or accounts of. I'm wondering how the name ever got attached.
