You will find William Henry Windsor in the 1850 census of Andrew Co. Missouri which is the county next to DeKalb Co. Missouri.|
Within a short time of that census William Henry moved to Morgan Co. Indiana to live with his uncle, Matthew Compton.
There is a story about William Henry leaving home. Louisa, Jeremiah'S second wife, was going into town (St. Joseph, Missouri) in a buggy and William Henry wanted to go with her. He had got dressed for the occassion and everything. When he came out the door to get into the buggy, Louisz whipped the horses, screamed at him "you're not going with me," and ran off in the buggy without him. William was both hurt and angry and so he ran away from home that same day. He did not return to Missouri again for over twenty years. And when he did return he went to see his sisters and not Louisa. He hated Louisa.
In the end Louisa died of tuberculosis.
