In Margaret Iman's memoir for the Skamania Co. Pioneer she said that after arriving in Oregon in 1853, she lay sick from mountain fever in the Bush Hotel. While she lay there she heard the cry of a baby and ask that it be brought to her. She says the baby was brought to her and it was Sully Williams. So Sully was the first baby she saw in Oregon, not the baby she carried on the Oregon Trail.
