I'm no expert on Haplogroups, everything I know about them I found on the internet. The R haplogroup is relatively new to Europe coming there about 10,000 years ago. So they cannot be effectively described as cro-magnon, they were some other closely related race of humans who came out of mid Russia, west to Europe. I think people who speak Uralic family of languages are related to them nowadays.
