Re: Ok Robert descends from Jacob Eiman (steve iman)
Words could never begin to describe my gratitude, and that's a terrible thing considering I'm a screenwriter and novelist.
From reading this forum, I know there are many whom could relate to the God awful ripping apart of a Eiman/Iman's heart searching for its origin. Who am I? Who did I come from? A whole bunch of other people have families and histories, can I have one too? Does anyone care?
I believe my question has been answered.
My childhood was not the best. We were poor, I was a fat difunctional junior-high school dropout, a fat ugly kid, and mom and dad were, well, let's just say they were human beings, and I accept and love them very much no matter what. Yet, at one point when I was a Teenager, and in my case that was with a capital "T", I gave a great amount of thought to changing my last name. I had no history, I had no reason to hold that name, and abyssal plain of horrible momories motivating me to abandon a proud and nobel history I was never aware of at all. Through it all, that little voice, there was that little voice in the back of my mind, right next to where I kept my faith and conscious, telling me in those teen years, "Don't, wait, your patients someday will be rewarded." So I endured, and that promised blessed day has arrived.
Today, I am a disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy (10% for damage to my hearing), a USC graduate, GO TROJANS. I have completed work on my first novel, and I work a night security job protecting homeless women and children at a shelter in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the United States -South Central Los Angeles. South Central is also where I live by choice. I love the people, they are good, warm hearted folks, and deserving of care, understanding and love.
I owe a debt here. I have been given something I had long ago abandoned, I have a family history now. Therefore, I, Robert Joseph Iman swear to all of the Eimann/Iman family to bear in heart and mind my proud lineage in all my acts, words, and deeds from this day foreward to my last, this I swear.
