NoneGeneaology errors

Did you ever wonder how some errors ever happen in the first place? My wife's Paternal Grandfather was born in, lived in , and died in Butler County KY. One of her distant kin posted an entry on Ancestry.com that he died and was buried in Oklahoma. I know the person thought he was right because he had the name right, the dates right, his wife's name right, the children's names right, but Grandpa had never been out of the state of KY in his life. He took his own life in 1963 at his home in Butler County. I sent an email to the poster and he said he would correct his records but he never told me where he got the wrong info to start with. I can understand a typo on a name or place but somethings make me wonder. There is one Iman researcher who has me having a brother George. I had a brother Marvin who died before I was born and a brother James but no George. Oh well, who ever George is, I hope he is doing well.
