Thanks Glennda. Itís been a long time since Iíve been able to update the site. Years ago now we were in touch, and I would love to learn more about your Iman information. Your John Glen Iman was son of Daniel Iman and Rebecca Crites. I believe Daniel was born about 1837 of Jacob Iman and Frony (Veronica) Rohrbach, though thatís just theory. I think that Daniel and his wife, though from the West Virginia area migrated toward Indiana but would appreciate any particulars. |
Information about Jacob and Frony is sketchy, and here too any details would be much appreciated. If I recall, Veronica was not recognized in some Rohrbach genealogies, perhaps having been Ďdisownedí for religious reasons? I donít know her background, but there were Christian, Henry, and Frederick Roraboughs in the Hardy area, one of which seems to have purchased land from Jacob Eyman (of Jacob and Barbara Jones) ó who I take to be the father of your Jacob Eyman. Whatís particularly interesting to me is that there was a Christopher Radebach on the HERO with the Ulrich Eymann who arrived in 1764, and there have been few ties between the Jacob Eiman of Paxtang and his uncle Ulrich. I believe that your Jacob, son of Christian Iman/Eyman was out of Jacob Eiman of Paxtang though proof is non-existent and Iíd much appreciate any information youíve used to sort out things.
There is much confusion about Jacobs of Hardy and it seems that that lair in life he may have married a Mary? In the 1860 census I believe Daniel was 24 and was with brothers and sisters.
Care and appreciation, Steve Iman
