She has been found finally after years of searching.... I had almost given up. Theodore continued to list her in the census records and city directories long after she had died, leading one to believe she was still alive.

Mary Ann Kirchner, second wife of Theodore Columbus Iman, d. 4 July 1910, at St. Vincents Hospital, Portland, Multnomah Co. Oregon, according to death certificate of retropharyngeal abcess and contributory bone in throat, aged 54. She is buried in the Mount Cavalry Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.

OREGON DAILY JOURNAL, Portland Oregon, 7 July 1910, Deaths, “Iman, Mary, St. Vincent hospital, July 4, age 54, bone in throat.”

For some reason Theodore Iman continues to list his deceased wife as among the living as in the Directory below and in the 1920 census.

1914-1915 Directory Pacific Co. Washington:
Iman, Theodore C. (Marie) lab, h 315 6th, Raymond, Wash.
Iman, Elmer B., lab. C. Lumber Co. r. 315 6th, Raymond, Wash.
Iman, Frank, employ. Weston Veneer & B Co.

1920 census Lewis Co. Washington, Emery twp., e. d. 139, sheet 5, Military Road, no. 16-16:
IMAN, Theodore C. , owns house mortgaged, 66, married, can read/write, Oregon/ UNITED STATES/ Missouri, lumber piler - sawmill
Marie, wife, 62, immigrated to America 1860, naturalization 1865, can read/write, Canada (English)/ Can. (English)/ Can. (English)
