This is a new basket of Netherland Stags. Six months ago, 5 small plants
were staged in a wire basket around a common core of bark core, soil, and moss.
The basket span is now about 3 feet. With the proper moisture (drip irrigation
would sure help!), this little arrangement could grow in a couple of years
to a rather solid ball of fronds 4' in circumferance. What a dramatic
statement that would make at the entry to my house!
You can see that the yard is a bit messy. There are other odd stags
being staged in different ways; the white pots are primarily about
dwarf pommegranites on their way to bonsai!
